About the project
TextCompare is an independent collection of free tools for reviewing changes in text, files, data formats, code and images. It exists to make careful comparison fast without asking users to upload confidential material or create an account. The project is independently maintained by an individual based in the United States.

The project prioritizes accurate navigation, readable diffs, practical file support and clear limitations over accounts, feeds or unnecessary platform features.
Features are tested across English and Chinese routes, light and dark themes, desktop and mobile layouts, with public policies kept aligned to the actual code.
The site is statically generated. Your browser downloads the application, then Web Workers and browser APIs perform the comparison locally. Even spreadsheet, Word, PDF and image inputs are processed on your device.
TextCompare will describe supported formats honestly, document known extraction limits, avoid publishing placeholder trust pages, and update its policies before introducing analytics or advertising.
